Nordic Saxophone Quartet was formed in 2002 as a common desire to support and care for Nordic music and composers from the Nordic countries.
The quartet aims to perform Nordic music and spread it to a wide audience.
It also aims to commission works by Nordic composers and preferably to get composers from all the different Nordic countries to compose for saxophone quartet in order for us to be able to represent the whole Nordic region in our concerts.
NSQ believes in giving an oral presentation of each work in order to give the audience a good starting point to the music they are about to hear.
The Nordic Saxophone Quartet consists of four of the most distinguished saxophonists from the Nordic countries who regularly perform with major orchestras and ensembles in Sweden
Johannes Thorell - soprano saxophone
Martin Eriksson - alto saxophone
Matias Karlsen Björnstad - tenor saxophone
Arnulf Steinsvik - baritone saxophone
